Glasgow date for info on small-business funding

Do you employ fewer than 55 people? Would you like to offer more training? Are you interested in a hassle-free business grant to help get that training started? If that makes three yeses, then read on for great news about the Flexible Training Opportunities Fund.

Skills Development Scotland is delighted to announce that an information session for Glasgow businesses has now been confirmed for Tuesday 16 November at Jurys Inn, Jamaica Street from 2.30pm to 4pm.

Offered in partnership with People 1st, this event is aimed at small businesses operating within the tourism sector who would benefit from the new Flexible Training Opportunities (FTO) Fund, launched earlier this year by Skills Development Scotland.

Supported by the European Social Fund, the FTO fund provides small businesses with additional financial support to help them deliver training within the workplace. Available for up to 10 employees per business, the fund provides up to 50% towards the cost of training, up to a maximum of £500 per employee, allowing businesses to effectively double their investment in training.

The information session provides you with:

• Guidance on how your business can access the funding
• Case studies from businesses who have already benefited from the initiative
• Information on eligible training courses and local providers
• An overview of skills work being undertaken to support tourism SMEs
• Q&A session with Skills Development Scotland and People 1st
• A chance to network with local businesses and national organisations

Places are limited, so you must book in advance! If you can’t make this Glasgow date, you might want to consider some of the other dates across Scotland.
