Are you all aware of Giveaway of the Day? It's a site which gives away a free, full version piece of software every day.

It's all legitimate. The only "catch" is that sometimes it's the previous version of the software, like version 2.0 rather than a current 3.0 - but who cares, really.
There's lots of rubbish but quite often you get something really useful. I've picked a few web development utilities in the year or so I've been subscribing to the RSS feed.
