First VAT Payment, Should I include sales made just before registration?

Hi all,
My VAT registration started on the 11th. I made sales on the 8th–10th, but the payments hit my account on the 12th. Do these need to be in my VAT return, or are they excluded since the sales were before registration?

Depending on your payment scedule, its likely the one you are paying now is for the previous quarter in relation to when you went VAT registered, so im guessing any payments after that quarter end will be the next quarter.

For example my VAT was due tomorrow, I submitted it to the accountant on the 23rd of last month, but thats accounts from the 1st of April up until the 30th of June. Anything after 30th of June for me will be in the next quarter.

Thanks for the clear explanation, Adam, that really helps!!!! Makes sense now that the VAT return covers the period based on invoice dates, not just payment dates, I used vatcalc.onl for my vat calculations. Thank your for your reply and the example you shared!
