Firefox problems

I logged onto the internet earlier on my laptop using firefox ver.3.5.6. and it automatically updated to Ver.3.5.7 (didn't require a computer restart). and when I tried to log onto my website or webmail both hosted with 1&1, I got a warning regarding a certification mismatch? now I can't log into any 1&1 (co.uk or com) related sites as I'm now getting a DNS error.

I know the issue is with the firefox update on my laptop, as I can still access these sites from my desktops which both use the same wireless internet connection as my laptop.

anyone know how I can sort this

Well after about four hours of unsuccessful attempts, the problem seems to have sorted itself.
