Fake MP3s pose 'significant threat'

I'm a bit surprised to see this floated as a new threat... It's two or more years since I was routinely warning clients about downloading .wmv files... Often these would just appear as just a file that wouldn't play. You'd think no harm was done but they contained a 'back door' that allowed the computer to be hijacked for sending spam... Inevitably this would slow the machine to a crawl and lead to gross instability too....
