Hi All,

This is really to all online business out there who sell online. Would you, if you had the choice sign up to system where... you ecom site would get designed, managed and also offer to manage your product distro, ie... putting your products in a warehouse and gets sent from there...

I hope that makes sense...

cheers

Interesting idea Stephen. I've seen quite alot of these on Ebay and while i'm assuming your idea would be much more professional than these my only concern would be that I have no control over my inventory that I guess I have paid for.

I what you are suggesting is a drop shipping type service then I would say these are pretty much ten a penny and with many people online price in the most important factor and people will shop around, you might find that you simply cannot compete on price and you have no toher usp as you cant control the shipping/delivery either.

Hi ,

it wouldnt really be drop shipping as the products have all ready been bought by you. The idea really is to target ecom sellers who do not have a warehouse but have a lot of products...

For the control of invertory is easy... there is a system which you log into when you get a sale... you pick the product enter the details of where it needs to go... we pick n pack it... and ship it for you.

I have heard of a similar service being run below the border, I will see if I can drag the url back from somewhere...

I did think this was a clever idea but I am sure it is an insurance and logistics nightmare! In my opinion there would be a market all be it limited, but unless you run an extremely tight ship you would be open to all sorts of finger pointing and accusations etc. Lets say a courier/postal service suffers a delay completely out of your hands (or worse still damages the package),the customer will blame the ecommerce company, who will in turn blame you for the damage to their reputation - if you see where I am coming from.

The other thing is that square footage is not cheap and to begin with you would probably have a lot of dead space costing you money?

Forgive me if I sound in anyway negative but these are the issues that I would have to investigate if I were to enter into such a venture, I am just offering them up for your consideration! :)

Hope it helps,

Gordon
