I find two kinds of people that have inherited businesses. Those that simply own it by fact of it being left to them in a will, and those that have worked with the business for many years prior ro inheritance.
When inheriting a business young, the financial head start is massive, and gives you a lifetime to develop if further that one person ever could in a single lifetime. However if you do not grow with the business beforehand, it almost inevitably results into the business being run into the ground.
I believe that those finding themselves in the former situation often cannot swallow their pride enough to seek additional managerial assitance, when the fact is that it will be the only way to achieve sucess in the long run.
