Do you prefer a desktop machine or a laptop or do you have both?

What for you makes one preferable to the other?

I have a dell desktop replacement laptop which I use 95% of the time.

But we have a desktop pc as well, but i very rarely use that as the other half is always playing world of warcraft.

yes, I'm a world of warcraft widow :D

The only (2) desktop machines i have are in a cupboard running:

A. An email, calendar and ftp server. (Linux)
B. My accounts software. (Win XP)

Desktops mostly... I find laptops too fragile for general use...

I have one... Some random cheap thing for working away from home. But it doesn't get used often.

We have three desktop machines (one each),plus the edit suite and a CCTV server that runs away in the cupboard...

I prefer the comfort of working on a desktop especially for coding/design work, but couldn't live without my laptop either. I spent good money on my laptop so that it would perform as well as my desktop, meaning wherever I am I can work without worrying about specs for my software.

I have to say though, it has been a while since I owned a Mac (the last one I have was the second generation iMac) and I keep getting tempted to dabble again! :)

Regards,

Gordon

I have a desktop in the office (Windows XP and Office 2003) and a laptop (Vista and Office 2007) which I use downstairs. Lots of different software on each.

I run 3 monitors using my desktop which helps me stay more efficient when working so moved away from a laptop a few years ago.
