Collecting sales data and using it for marketing?

Small business owner here with lots of data. Think I need to start using it for marketing and making sales decisions. Rather than relying on intuition. Currently most data is saved in a CRM. Or in Excel/Gsheets.

I'd like to understand some ways to leverage this? Do I have to hire a data analyst? Can I do it myself? What software can I use?

I've looked at Tableau/PowerBI but neither I or anyone in my business knows how to use this, any advice?

If you have a lot of data and you want to use this data for marketing purposes, there are different channels that you could use for marketing. You could try email marketing, social media advertising, pay per click advertising etc. You can do all of these yourself, but it just requires time and patience in learning the tools.

For email marketing, there are several types of email marketing platforms that you can use, such as Mail Chimp, Send In Blue, etc. For social media advertising, you can use Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn. Facebook and Instagram are great for B2C products/services. LinkedIn is great for B2C products/services.

It's great that you're thinking about using your sales data for marketing! You don't necessarily need to hire a data analyst right away. Start with tools you’re familiar with, like Google Sheets or Excel, and explore add-ons for data visualization. Google Data Studio is also user-friendly and integrates well with your existing data.
