Are there any formal apprenticeship schemes?

I remember the days when "I was a lad" there used to be apprenterships for a lot of professions then they were replaced by the YTS - cheap labour and little or no prospect of a job at the end of it. All done to keep the "unemployment" figures down. I wonder if the people who created these schemes ever think of the damage they have done for generations later?

I think that a simple labor force can work without education. Now you need to pay attention to those professions that are in demand by society, for example, doctors. There are simply not enough of them now. But at the same time, it is quite difficult to enter medical colleges, although today the doctor is one of the most important professions in the world! Unfortunately, countries are not going to simplify the methods of admission to medical colleges, but it is good that there are services such as https://www.medicmind.co.uk/ , the educators of this company help applicants to enter medical colleges without problems.
