Anybody having problems with FASTHOSTs today

Is anyone having problems with Fasthosts today.

I have two accounts with them and both are not allowing me to received my emails.

Host my websites are fine...just seems to be email accounts affected?#

Anyone else?

ever since the someone hacked into their systems before christmas and so fasthosts reset all their passwords and then decided to send them out by post during a royal mail strike.

Very good business sense.

Fasthosts did have a temp problem with emails for a few hours, I have been with them for 7 years now and I have also used a lot of other hosts along the way, Fasthosts have improved a LOT over the years and have been pretty good to work with for the most part.

You could name any company that is the largest in it's field and list unhappy customers stories.
Edit: I have also seen a fair few pop up and then disappear in the last 7 years as well, taking people's domains and sites with them.

The fact they still store passwords in plain text on their servers says it all really!

Their recent shananagins with removing access to the majority of their client-base to fix a security breach just shows the incompetence of management (it's unfair to slag the technicians that work there: after all, they're just following what the head-honchos tell them to do).

Have a google for them, all will be revealed.

Hehe! I've dabbled in web hosting for years, and Equiphase is a side-line. Recently sold a bit of it off to two other directors. Hosting is nothing special if you know what you're doing when it comes to the servers, and as long as you've got a strong understanding of security and a stable infrastructure, anyone can do it!

I don't do that I'm afraid, when it comes to the designing, I'm absolutely shocking! I know a few people that do though, some are on here!

fasthosts were disgraceful during that period and i've heard that they get worse and worse, as the prices drop to regain customers so does the quality of the hosting.

Oh well

It is my imagination or do FASTHOSTS do their "upgrade" or "tinkering" during the peak business times?

Dunno if it's the servers just being less-than-adequate or them working on it...

I have to say, the technicians for Fasthosts are actually quite good, it's the management/support staff who don't understand the things they're preaching about.
