A new scam involving mobile phones...

I came across this one the other day when i was having a beer with a friend of mine.

He got a call on his mobile, from someone, (number withheld). They said to him...'Your bank card is about to be stopped and we need some details to make sure that doesn't happen. Can you confirm your name, address and date of birth as confirmation'

Oh, says my friend. Can you confirm the name of the bank you are calling from.

Click...phone line goes dead....strange that.

But I wonder how many people panic and then give out their personal details.

Thanks for the timely reminder Gordon. You think that everyone knows about all the scams that are going around but it is amazing how people still fall for them. I have passed this on in an email to all my family and friends.
